Brian was actually in a different department at MightyWords (I was CTO), working under the VP, when I asked for him to be transferred to my department to become head of R&D. He excelled as our "idea guy", our "IBM Think Tank", and our prototype creator. He was absolutely excellent at coming up with very creative solutions and  proposals very quickly, whatever the challenge thrown at him. He was a critical person for our department.
